Marc Guiu opens up about his Barcelona exit

Chelsea completed the signing of Marc Guiu this transfer window. They paid €6 million to sign him and have offered Guiu a contract from five years. Chelsea fans are very happy that the 18 year old talent has joined them. However, Barca fans were not so happy with the player’s decision. Marc Guiu recently spoke about his exit from FC Barcelona. He also spoke about why he joined Chelsea and how he is viewing his future.

Guiu has been with Barca since he was 7 years old. He earned his place in first team last year in June. Guiu was highly rated by former Barca Xavi who gave him a big opportunity. He was able to play pre-season games last year. Guiu was 17 years old when he was included in Barca’s first team squad.

He made his official debut for Barcelona in October 2023. He came in as substitute on the 79th minute. It took only 23 seconds for Guiu to score a goal for Barca. In addition, he became the youngest and fastest debutant to score for Barcelona in La Liga.

Guiu made his Champions League debut three days later. In December, he scored his first Champions League goal against Royal Antwerp. He was highly rated as the next big thing for Barcelona. However, Marc Guiu made a decision to join Premier League side Chelsea.

Guiu speaks about his Barca exit

Marc Guiu decided to join Chelsea from Barcelona this summer for his future endeavors. According to Daily Mail, Guiu decided to sign for Chelsea as it was his dream to play in the Premier League. He said that he had a dream to play in Premier League and Chelsea is a great club with a lot of history. Guiu added that it was a tough decision to make. However it was an amazing opportunity and that he could not say no to it.

Guiu talked to Barca’s under 19 coach Juliano Belletti. Belletti played for both Chelsea and Barcelona in his career. He was Chelsea player from 2007 to 2010, whereas before moving to Premier League he played for Barcelona from 2004 to 2007. Barcelona were planning to use Guiu as a backup option for Robert Lewandowski. However, the departure of Guiu forced them to sign Pau Victor from Giron. Pau Victor has been doing very good in pre-season games. He has been able to score three goals against Manchester City and Real Madrid.

Guiu is ready for the future

Marc Guiu also talked about his future. He said that he is ready. He added that they are working very hard, both on and off the pitch. Guiu said that he is ready to be on the pitch and help the team when they need him. Former Barcelona striker Marc Guiu likes his new coach Enzo Maresca.
