Massive blow for Arsenal as Edu Gasper set to depart

Arsenal have been hit by yet another massive blow as thier sporting director Edu Gasper is set to depart. This may come as a biggest blow for Mikel Arteta as he had an amazing relationship with the Brazilian.

Edu Gasper joined Gunners board in 2019 as technical director. He was well known with the club as he once used to play for them. Edu was key player of Arsenal squad when they became invincibles in 2004.

Later the Brazilian became the first ever sporting director of Arsenal. He has developed into one of the best examples of this role. Edu has worked closely with Arteta and helped Arsenal to get back to best.

Over the time, Edu has made significant changes to Arsenal. He has signed some of the best players and also sold some well known stars for the best possible deals. He has played a huge part in making Arsenal the title challengers once again.

Edu Gasper to leave Arsenal

The news was first reported by Daily Mail and the reports says that there is no clear reason behind the departure. But it is the decision taken by Edu himself to step down the role. There are other reports linking him to new roles for different organisations.

Over the past two months, there have been many big changes in Arsenal board. This may be the biggest of them all as Edu has been the most powerful asset. He was directly involved in bringing players like Declan Rice, William Saliba and Martin Odegaard, which shows how precise his thinking was.

On the other hand, he was not shy to let the high earning players like Mesut Ozil, Aubameyang, etc leave. Edu trusted Arteta and vice versa and this relationship was clearly paying off for the North London club.

We will get more clear answers when Arteta conducts match conference ahead of the clash against Inter Milan. As of now, Edu is said to take the role in Evangelos Marinakis’ group of clubs.
