Matheus Cunha is very close to joining Man Utd

Premier League 2025-2026

Red Devils eye Matheus Cunha as Ruben Amorim’s rebuild takes shape ahead of the big summer transfer window.

Man Utd near deal for Wolves star Matheus Cunha

Manchester United are currently the front runners to land Wolves and Brazil forward Matheus Cunha. The Brazilian is reportedly keen on a switch to Old Trafford following a chat with Ruben Amorim.

The striker is valued at £62.5 million. He is said to have decided to switch sides after holding tunnel talks with Amorim. Wolves recently beat United in a 1-0 game at the Old Trafford.

The Utd head coach is expected to lead a major change at United this June. The Brazilian striker is likely to be one of the key pieces in the Portuguese boss’ new-look attack.

The 25-year-old was also being chased by Newcastle United. Although, he seems more attracted by the idea of playing a central role in Amorim’s plans.

While United have not acted on Cunha’s release clause yet, discussions are being held. There is hope that a deal will get over the line soon.

Amorim targets Delap, but outgoings will fund new arrivals

More moves are incoming as the Reds Devils plot their summer plans. The Wolves forward isn’t the only attacker on Manchester United’s list. Ipswich’s Liam Delap is being tracked as well. He has scored 12 goals in his first campaign in the Premier League.

With Ipswich looking at relegation, Utd could be able to steal Delap at £30 million. Chelsea and other top clubs are also reportedly monitoring the young striker. That said, it appears they are well in front.

At the same time, the club is also watching Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo and Eberechi Eze, a creative midfielder for Crystal Palace.

However, they both have big price tags of around £70 million. That means that Amorim’s side will need to move some high-earners off the books first.

The futures of Marcus Rashford, Antony, and Jadon Sancho remain up in the air. Their potential exits could open the door for these big-money moves. With the manager steering the rebuild, Old Trafford could see a very different frontline come next season.
