Demiral set to leave Gewiss Stadium to join Inter

According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, the 25-year-old intends to leave his current club due to an ongoing dispute with his coach. Thus a departure now appears to be all but likely to occur.

Demiral is greatly one of Inter’s top defensive targets this summer. The former Juventus and Sassuolo player had been consistently linked during the January transfer window. While positioning himself as a quick identical replacement for Milan Skriniar, the Slovakian will move to Paris Saint-Germain.
However, neither Skriniar nor Demiral changed clubs in January. Above all, Sabuncuoglu reporting that Gasperini played a key role in preventing the Turk from joining Inter.

Despite the fact that both players remained at the club in January, Skriniar is anticipated to move on a free transfer to PSG in a few months. While the Nerazzurri will attempt to replace him and maybe make other defensive reinforcements. According to reports, Demiral remains Inter’s primary target to replace Skriniar. However Atalanta has set the asking price at €30 million. If Demiral has decided to leave the Gewiss Stadium this summer, Inter will have a big advantage in their pursuit of the Turkish international to replace Skriniar.

According to Sabuncuoglu, the relationship between Demiral and Gasperini has deteriorated to the point that a separation appears to be unavoidable.

“Merih Demiral and Gian Piero Gasperini have had a bust-up!” he reports.

“Merih Demiral has informed the directors of Atalanta that he intends to leave during the summer transfer window.”

“Gasperini blocked Merih’s transfer to Inter at the last minute.”
