They have won 3 out of their 4 Premier League games. Their latest match ended up in a 1-0 win over Tottenham away from home. As a result, morale will be high for the Gunners. Meanwhile the Italian side have had a not-so-great start to the new campaign. Out of their 4 Serie A games, they have managed to win 2 and lose 2. But, they are more than capable of putting up a fight against the London Reds.
Gasperini warns Mikel Arteta and Arsenal
Atalanta are a team capable of causing big upsets. Their UEL title triumph last season is a prime example. Leverkusen were the favorites to win the trophy. Xabi Alonso’s side did not lose a game in the entire 23/24. But, the Serie A side put a halt to their run on the grand stage. Moreover, Atalanta did it in some style as they beat the favorites in a humiliating fashion by 3-0. As per mirror, Gasperini was quick to warn Arsenal and Mikel Arteta to not underestimate his men. They are more than capable of putting on a show and giving a tough challenge.
Will we see another upset?
It will be a close game for sure. But, claiming all 3-points will be very difficult for the Italians. As for the Gunners, they will be trying to start their European journey on a winning note. Their win against Tottenham in dramatic circumstances would have surely instilled them with confidence. At the same time, Declan Rice will be eligible for them to play. So, that would also be a big morale booster for the away side. But, Mikel Arteta did confirm that captain Martin Odegaard will not feature for Arsenal for a ‘long’ time. His injury is serious. Fans will be keen to see him return on-the-field.
