About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

AC Milan are reportedly looking to extend the contracts of Franck Kessie and Davide Calabria. After having an excellent 2020-2021 with the Rossoneri

The Ivorian midfielder has made 34 appearances for Stefano Pioli’s side and managed to score 10 goals and three assists in Serie A this season. And Calabria is also having a great season with the club, scoring 2 goals and one assist in 29 Serie A appearances.

Kessie and Calabria both have a contract with the Serie A giants until June 2022. Milan directors Paolo Maldini and Ricky Massara are looking to work on contract extensions for both players.

Milan to extend contract with Kessie and Calabria:

According to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira reported that Milan are working on the contract extensions of Franck Kessie and Davide Calabria. And Maldini has already scheduled the meetings with their respective entourages, Atangana and Alfaro, to discuss the renewals.

Calabria currently earns €1 million per year and Milan has no problem doubling the figure in the new contract. On the other hand, Kessie currently earns €2.2 million per annum and he has already made it clear that he wants more than €4 million a year. The Rossoneri should have no problem with that demand as he is too important for Milan’s game.

The journalist Schira also reported that two other renewals also in line, Theo Hernandez and Ismael Bennacer considered integral parts of Milan. Discussions over their new contract will begin in the coming weeks as both earn only €1.5m net per season and will receive a well-deserved increase.

The journalist added that it is a possibility that Bennacer’s €50m release clause could be removed when he will be given the new contract in the coming months.

It will be a summer to keep their youngsters at the club and make them happy by making their demands. They can’t afford to lose any of them as they are very important for them and they will become great when they reach their peak.
