Mohamed Salah Unhappy With Captaincy Snub, Not Ruling Out Liverpool Exit

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah recently admitted about the Captaincy repulse, claiming “very disappointed” for not being positioned as the captain for the Reds for their Champions League stint with FC Midtjylland earlier this month.

The injury crisis has been a long-lasting problem and voided many top players like Virgil Van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Diogo Jota, and Thiago creating a burden upon other responsibilities for the club, especially the manager Jurgen Klopp.

Mohamed Salah consistently maintained a static profile and as a result, was heavily used in the recent weeks as a game-changer for the earlier plays. He was extremely in his impressive form and is believed to play a crucial role in the defense of the Club in the Premier League.

Mohamed Salah disappointed by Klopp’s decision:

According to the Spanish newspaper AS Salah was asked about the ignorance for the role of the captain for the 1-1 draw with Midtjylland earlier in December.

Salah had established himself as one of the best attackers in Europe under Klopp, who has already made 108 appearances for Liverpool since he arrived from Roma three years ago.

The 28-year old Egyptian is at present in level with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Son Heung-Min in the Premier League Top scorer charts with11 times to his name this season. However, the young Anfield’s future is questioned all over the year in due regard of the Captaincy snub.

The manager Jurgen Klopp had offered the armband to Trent Alexander-Arnold, disappointed Salah for not given the responsibility. Klopp omitted Salah from the first lineup for Saturday’s 7-0 win at Selhurst Park, detailing the reason in his interview.

“Honestly, I was very disappointed. I was hoping to be the captain, but it’s a coach’s decision. I accept it.”

The attacker has been tipped to move with La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, not refusing their deals as they are the top-clubs of La Liga. These alternatives can serve as a winning profile for his upcoming fixtures. He included in the conference:

I think Madrid and Barcelona are the two top clubs. Who knows what will happen in the future.

“But right now I am focused on winning the Premier League and the Champions League with Liverpool again. Of course, I want to break records here and, I repeat, all the club records, but everything is in the hands of the club.”
