I-League side Mohammedan SC announced the signing of Indian winger Nikhil Kadam, on Tuesday (January 5).
The 26-year-old player has played for several clubs across India, having shared the dressing room with many top Indian and foreign players. His experience in playing alongside big names will be a great bolster for the Black Panthers.
“Mohammedan SC rope in former NorthEast United FC and Mohunbagan AC winger Nikhil Kadam,” the club tweeted.
The winger cum attacking midfielder started his youth career with Krida Prabodhini, a local club in Maharashtra. In 2009, he joined the youth team of Pune FC and then was promoted to their senior side in 2012. He represented the club for two years, making 28 appearances and finding the net twice.
After leaving the club, Nikhil Kadam was a free agent for two years after failing to get a contract from any club. He was signed by DSK Shivajians in 2016, who sold him to Mumbai FC without giving him a match to start.
After a stint with Mumbai FC, the young player moved to play for Mohun Bagan AC and NorthEast United FC. He played 38 matches across three seasons for both clubs. After the 2019/20 ISL season, the Highlanders choose not to renew his contract.
