Napoli agree deal with Al Ahli for Chelsea target Victor Osimhen

Napoli have agreed a deal in principle with Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli for the transfer of Chelsea target Victor Osimhen.

Every transfer window has some intriguing transfer moves, something to keep an eye on. Some transfer that go down to the wier. And such a saga is taking place here. Napoli were in talks with both Al Ahli and Chelsea simultaneously for the transfer of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen since last few days. According to the recent reports a deal has been agreed with Al Ahli for the transfer. The player hasn’t yet given the green light for the move. As said yesterday Osimhen want to stay in Europe but for that he has to agree to the terms Chelsea have proposed.

AL AHLI AND NAPOLI

Saudi Arabian side Al Ahli have been talks with Napoli and the player for a few days now. Money is not a problem for the middle east club as they are ready to accept anything that Napoli puts forward. They have also offered a massive 25-30 million euros per annum wage for Osimhen till 2028. So clearly money is not a problem. It is that Osimhen wants to stay in Europe so looks like he is waiting for Chelsea.

According to the recent reports from Fabrizio Romano, There has been an agreement struck between Al Ahli and Napoli for the transfer. The deal is worth around 80 million euros.

Everything has been clear from the side of Al Ahli. They want the player at any cost. They also have agreed to Osimhen’s demans to add a release clause to his contract. We still don’t know how much that is worth but it is likely to be more than the fee agreed now. Now the final decision is upto Osimhen.

CHELSEA’S POSITION ON OSIMHEN

Chelsea are also in talks with the club and the player. As it stands agreeing a deal with Napoli wouldn’t be hard enough as they want to see Osimhen out by the end of the day. A loan offer with an obligation to buy and the fee around 60 to 70 million pounds would be enough to get a green light from Napoli. But agreeing personal terms with Victor Osimhen’s camp is a herculean task. This is due to the fact that the player is not willing to reduce his wages. And with Al Ahli offering such a lucrative wage offer it is difficult to compete.

The only factor holding the Premier League giants into this deal is the player’s will to stay in Europe and win major trophies. Despite Al Ahli agreeing a deal with Napoli, Victor Osimhen has not yet given the green light for the move. The striker is still in talks with Chelsea delegates in Italy to find a solution until the end.

It is true that Osimhen is not ready to reduce his high wage demands but it is also his wish to stay in Europe. On the other hand As Maresca said, having a out and out number 9 like Victor Osimhen in the team would be crucial for Chelsea’s ambitions this season. It is upto both parties to reach an agrement despite only hours left in the transfer market. Either of them have to make compromises if the deal has to go through.

TONEY ACCEPTS AL AHLI

Before the transfer window began, I don’t think anybody would have expected the names Ivan Toney and Victor Osimhen to be spelled together. But it has happened now as two clubs Chelsea and Al Ahli have been competing for these two talented strikers. Ivan Toney has been the second fiddle for both Al Ahli and Chelsea if they miss out on their top target that is Victor Osimhen.

According to recent reprots from L’equipe Al Ahli have an agreement in principle with Brentford for a 42 million euros transfer fee. And unlike Osimhen the player also has given the green light for the move to happen. Al Ahli have also booked medicals for Toney.

It would be either Osimhen or Toney for Al Ahli. Even though they have agreement in place for both the transfers, they will only go ahead with one. It all now depends on Chelsea reaching an agreement with Osimhen’s camp on personal terms and Osimhen making his final decision.
