As per the reports of Metro, Napoli have no problems to let Victor Osimhen leave the club in January. But, that will only happen if any of the interested clubs provide the right price for the Nigerian.
Osimhen was forced to leave Napoli this summer. As the club excluded him from their first-team squad. Because they already had signed Romelu Lukaku as his replacement. When the 25-year-old striker informed the club last Winter that he wants to leave them at the end of the season.
Osimhen was linked heavily with Chelsea throughout the Summer transfer window. They even reached an agreement. But at last due to some minor issues the deal got collapsed and the deadline day was over. So, Osimhen had no choice but to join Turkish side Galatasaray on a year long deal.
Napoli to let Osimhen leave this Winter
However, Osimhen who was valued at £109m, had only a year left in his contract with Napoli. So, to do some good business the club made an agreement with the striker which includes an unique clause to benefit both the parties. As of that clause, Osimhen can join any of the 10 clubs that he has listed, in January with a lowered price tag of £68m. Out of which £63m will go to the pocket of Napoli and rest the to Galatasaray.
The director of the Napoli, Mauro Meluso said during the Palermo Football Conference,
“Osimhen no longer wanted to be part of the first-team. He had received an important offer even before I arrived at Napoli, but Aurelio De Laurentiis [Napoli chairman] didn’t consider it because he thought about the club’s good.”
Further he added that the Nigerian had no choice but to join the Turkish side, so that he doesn’t miss the next three months of football. But he is free to complete a transfer to any of the teams that he has listed. Which includes the likes of Chelsea, PSG, Arsenal etc.
