Saudi Arabian club Al Ahli have sent a formal bid to sign Chelsea and PSG target Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
The formal bid is valued at around 55 million pounds which is less than what Napoli have wanted. But with only a few days left in the transfer market the club are ready to let Osimhen go. The situation with Napoli is positive but Osimhen doesn’t want to leave for Saudi and latest comments from his agent reinstates that. Osimhen is still 25 and has lot more years left in football. This stance might have boosted the confidence in his potential suitors from Europe.
OFFER FROM MIDDLE EAST
The Saudi Arabian clubs have been shipping players from Europe after offering lucrative offers. With the likes of Ronaldo, Neymar, Firmino, Mitrovic and many more playing the Saudi Pro League has risen to prominance in recent days. They have already got their hands on some of the marquee players from Europe so the next step must be competing with European giants to secure signings of current stars.
Al Ahli already shipped Gabrie Veiga, was one of the future telent of Spanish football. Another Saudi club Al Hilal were in the race for superstar Kylian Mbappe recently. Victor Osimhen is one of the stars of European football currently and Al Ahli have now sent a formal bid to Napoli for the transfer. As per reliable transfer expert Fabrizio Romano the offer is valid at 55million pounds.
Napoli are desperate to offload Victor Osimhen as they want him out. The club had been demanding huge fee for the striker but recent events have led them into desperation. Osimhen is not playing for Napoli now as he wants to make a big move abroad. So from Napoli’s position it is like they are flogging a dead horse.
AGENT DEMANDS ‘RESPECT’
In the light of the recent offer from Al Ahli and the efforts of Napoli to offload the striker. Victor Osimhen’s agent Robert Calenda has come up with some comments. Calenda insists the fact that Osimhen is not some package that can be offloaded for a ‘new prophet’.
About the prospects of moving ot middle east he had to say this. “Victor still has so much to do IN EUROPE”.
We have to somewhat accept the fact that moving to Saudi Arabia is not a really good idea for an upcoming star like Victor Osimhen. Other than the lucrative money they offer there’s nothing in Saudi at the moment that would benefit the Nigerian.
He went on to say “As I said, it is not a package to be shipped far away to make room for new prophets. Victor was elected African footballer of the year, eighth at the Ballon d’Or, he still has so much to do in Europe. There is need respect and balance.”
He demands respect from the Napoli board. Osimhen had renewed his Napoli contract recently as a mark of respect to the club. He could have left for free instead. So Calenda insists on the fact that instead of trying to ship off Osimhen like a package. The Napoli board should respect the player and focus on granting his clients wish of signing for a major European club.
MAJOR BOOST FOR CHELSEA?
It is clear from the remarks of his agent that Osimhen really wants to stay in Europe and make a major move. Chelsea are leading to race despite bids from Saudi. Chelsea have been working on Osimhen transfer since finishing off the Lukaku deal.
According to Football Italia, Sky Sports Italian correspondent Francesco Modugno said that Chelsea remain an option for Victor Osimhen. Despite not sending an official bid. The same goes with PSG who already had an agreement with the striker earlier in this window.
We expect that a deal with Chelsea would be a lot easier. The fact that both clubs had recently agreed a deal for Romelu Lukaku. Recent update from Fabrizio Romano says that Napoli and Al Ahli are close to agreeing.
