Napoli are showing interest in one of Chelsea’s talented youngsters. However, they are unwilling to meet the demanded price by the West London club. This can result in failure of the deal.
The star in question here is 21 year old Cesare Casadei. The Italian star started his career at Inter Milan and joined the Blues in 2022. He spent the whole first year in England on a loan to Leicester City. After the end of loan he returned to Chelsea.
However, Casadei has not been able to get into their starting lineup regularly for Chelsea. He has so far played only 6 games and is yet to play any Premier League game this season. Casadei is very likely to move away from Stamford Bridge.
The Italian midfielder is linked with a return to Italy. Firstly, he was looked upon by Torino who even made an initial offer to sign him. However, it was rejected by the Blues. Later, Lazio toon joined the race.
Yesterday, there were reports that Napoli have joined the race to sign Casadei. They were even said to have lead in the race. However, the situation is now different due to the financial side of the deal.
Napoli unwilling to pay the demanded price for Casadei
According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Napoli are unwilling to pay £15 million for Casadei this month. On the other hand, Chelsea are not interested to sell the 21 year old for price below £15 million. The Azzurri are showing hesitation in paying such a amount in the middle of the season.
This may result in failure of another deal between Napoli and Chelsea. Earlier in summer, the deal for Victor Osimhen failed too due to financial reasons. Other than that, the Italian club has good relation with the Blues.
Napoli is managed by Antonio Conte who has previously worked for Chelsea. In addition, he even won Premier League and FA Cup and is highly respected at West London. He may be the key factor in convincing the Blues.
