Newcastle can help Chelsea register the sale of their academy star

The summer transfer market has approached last week. It will close on August 30 at 11 pm UK time. The clubs are now speeding up their signing procedures. Some clubs had a very good transfer market, whereas some clubs were not able to spend much. One of the main reasons behind it was the profitability and sustainability rules set by Premier League. However, they did not seem to have stopped Chelsea at all. The Blues have signed 11 new players this summer. However, they want to part ways with some of the existing players and get some profit. Newcastle United can now help Chelsea in parting ways with one of their academy star.

The money earned from this deal will be counted as pure profit. It will help the club to maintain the financial books. Chelsea are on the verge to breach the PSR rules. They want to part ways with many of their players and balance the sheet. Chelsea sold Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid for a reported fee of £36 million. They want to do the same with another academy star. However, Chelsea fans are not happy with this decision and want the club to keep the star. On the other hand, Chelsea find his sale beneficial for both the parties as he does not fit in Enzo Maresca’s system.

How can Newcastle help Chelsea

Newcastle United are eager to sign Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace. According to Sky Sports, they are confident to sign Guehi after submitting a bid of worth £65 million plus add-ons. Newcastle want to strengthen their defense but were hesitating to spend big. The problem is not money as their owners have all the capacity to spend big. However, it is the PSR rules that are holding Newcastle back. But now, the club is ready to spend big and make Guehi their new superstar. Nothing is concrete yet but we can see advanced talks between the clubs soon.

Crystal Palace are not ready to part ways with Marc Guehi. They have already sold one of their defender to Fulham. Palace sold Joachim Andersen for £30 million. Their chairman said that they can’t afford to lose both of their centre backs. Palace have even made Guehi the club captain. However, Guehi has only two years left at the club and receiving around £70 million can force them to accept the deal.

If Palace do sell Guehi, they will need to find a replacement for him very soon. Here, the Chelsea academy star comes in discussion. The star is discussion is Trevoh Chalobah who is linked very heavily with the move away from Stamford Bridge. Newcastle can force Palace to go after Chelsea academy star. Chalobah cannot get european football with Palace. However he desires to stay in London and this gives advantage to Palace. Chelsea have Chalobah on their transfer list and want around £25 million for him. Despite having good end of last season, they have no intention to keep him for another season. They can be elevated in financial books due to achieving pure profit. However, Chelsea fans are not happy with this decision at all.

Chelsea have no intention to keep Chalobah

Enzo Maresca has left Trevoh Chalobah to train with the development squad. He was not part of squad in the pre-season games. Maresca is working with Wesley Fofana, Alex Disasi and Tosin Adarabioyo. Chalobah is likely to not receive any gametime with Chelsea this season. In addition, his shirt number has already taken by Joao Felix who just joined the club on permanent transfer. This suggests that Chelsea have no intention to keep Chalobah for another season.
