Nottingham Forest are planning to disrupt summer plans of Arsenal. They are keen to sign Mikel Arteta’s preferred striker target by sending one of their current player in the other direction.
Arsenal have striker signing as the top priority for summer window. They are set to sign a world-class striker as they want to end their Premier League title drought. As of now, they are linked with many of the best strikers across whole Europe.
Gunners had Alexander Isak as their top priority for the summer. But, Newcastle United want £150 million for him which the North London club find very hard to offer. They also had sight on Benjamin Sesko but face heavy competition for him.
Recently, Gunners have been heavily linked with Viktor Gyokeres. Andrea Berta the new sporting director of Arsenal has already held talks with the agents of Gyokeres. The player’s camp is very happy after the talks and hence the North London giants have been handed a major boost.
Nottingham Forest still keen to land Gyokeres
Nottingham also hold interest in Viktor Gyokeres. According to Correio De Manha via Yahoo Sports, they are keen to land the Swedish striker this summer. They are plotting a swap deal and are willing to send Jota Silva in the opposite direction.
Forest are headed for the Champions League football next season. They are on the 3rd position in Premier League and are now favourites to finish in top 4. Hence, the board will like to improve their squad this summer.
Despite the interest from Forest, Gunners will stay at front in Gyokeres race. They will find it easier to convince the 26 year old as compared to Forest. There are already reports that Gyokeres has said yes to joining Gunners this summer. It will be interesting to see if he is able to end their league title drought.
