Nuno Tavares is likely to part ways with Arsenal after Zinchenko’s arrival

Camavinga

Nuno Tavares signed for Arsenal in the last summer window from Benfica for a reported £7.2 million fee. The Portuguese left-back was signed as a backup to Kieran Tierney. The Scottish full-back has struggled with injuries ever since signing from Celtic.

However, the Portuguese failed to impress Mikel Arteta in the year since. The club has recently completed the signing of the versatile Oleksandr Zinchenko from Manchester City. Mikel Arteta has worked with Zinchenko before at City and considers him the ideal candidate for the left-back spot.

With the arrival of Zinchenko, it is obvious that Nuno Tavares will have reduced playing minutes with Arsenal. The defender is thus likely to move away from the Gunners.

Brighton and Hove Albion are interested in signing the Portuguese from the Emirates to replace Marc Cucurella. The Spaniard is likely to complete a move to Manchester City this summer.

Nuno Tavares to Brighton will be an ideal outcome for all

Manchester City are hoping to sign Cucurella from Brighton to replace Zinchenko this summer. Brighton is said to be interested in completing the triangle by signing Nuno Tavares from Arsenal. The defender will get plenty of first-team football at the Amex stadium.

Nuno Tavares will also fit the playing style at Brighton easily as Graham Potter is known for deploying a formation with wing-backs. The Portuguese will be able to utilize his attacking talents in a wing-back role. The defender will have lesser defensive responsibilities as compared to in a formation with a back four.

However, if Brighton wishes to sign the Portuguese, then they will have to face stiff competition from France. Marseille is also interested in signing the left-back and is close to tabling an offer for the player. The Seagulls will have to move quickly if they are to capture the Arsenal star.
