Omar Marmoush reflects on Man City’s chances to play in UCL

Man City once again dropped points yesterday. They failed to win against Brighton & Hove Albion in their own stadium. This has made their chances of playing in UCL very tough for next season. Their January signing Omar Marmoush has now reflected about this matter.

City took the lead against Brighton last night but failed to keep it. They once again took the lead and ended the first half with 2-1 lead. But, they repeated the mistake once again to concede another and hence dropped very important 2 points.

City are now on the 5th position in Premier League. Newcastle United who are on 6th position have 1 game in hand and hence can overtake City by winning it. This has made it very hard for the Sky Blues to finish in top four this season.

Despite the draw, City’s January signing Omar Marmoush was brillant last night. He scored the 4th goal in Premier League. Later, the Egypt international later had his say about Man City playing in Champions League next season.

“Of course it is a challenge but we will do everything. We will put our heads down, try to work as hard as we can and, always when we are on the pitch, give 100 percent. Hopefully, in the end, we will secure that place” – Marmoush about Man City’s UCL hopes for next season.

How good was Omar Marmoush yesterday?

Firstly, Marmoush was the highest rated player on the pitch yesterday. Along with the gaol, he had 50% shot accuracy and 81% passing accuracy. He created 2 big chances and he was the one who won the penalty. The penalty was converted by Haaland to give City lead earlier.

Marmoush had 40 touches out of which 6 were in opposition box. He had 1 successful dribble with 2 passes in final third. The Egyptian also helped City in defence by making 1 clearance, 2 recoveries and winning 4 ground duels with 67% success rate. All stats are as per FOTMOB.
