Ousmane Dembele and his talks of a new contract with Spanish giants Barcelona don’t see much hope as the Frenchman might leave the club on a Bosman transfer according to Gerard Romero.
Barcelona paid a whopping €105 million Euros and €40m in add-ons to bring Dembele from Borussia Dortmund back in 2017. However, the winger has not been remotely close to his prime. Thanks to Xavi Hernandes, the Barca legend who helped Dembele re-ignite the lost spark. The Frenchman went on to record 9 assists in 12 games. Thus indicating that a change of heart from all parties involved is now feasible.
Ousmane Dembele hit hard by Ferran Torres deal
Dembele is said to be unhappy that Barcelona is offering him a contract with much-reduced wages while still putting together a large financial package to sign Ferran Torres from Manchester City for €55 million-plus and €10 million in add-ons.
Juventus, Manchester United, and Chelsea are among the major European teams interested in acquiring Dembele on a free transfer. He is thought to be a January target for Newcastle United.
Can Dembele hold on to Barcelona?
The Catalan Kings are still paying off their record-breaking debts from 2021. As a result, they cannot afford to give the World Champion the wages he’s willing to be paid.

Dembele could play outside Spain
On Tuesday, Catalunya Radio asked Rafa Yuste a question, amid reports that the club believes the Frenchman would join Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent after talks to extend his five-year deal with the club broke down.
In conclusion, the latest rumors on Dembele say that he is on the verge of joining Chelsea. With Barcelona’s contract discussions with the Frenchman expected to come to a conclusion, a Bosman transfer to Stamford Bridge might be on the cards shortly.
