Chelsea have revealed their squad for Conference League in which Palmer is missing along with 3 other senior stars.
The Blues have revealed their squad for Conference League on official Chelsea website. Chelsea have named a 23 men squad to represent them in European competition. However, four big names have been missing from the list. Cole Palmer who has been their main star since joining from Manchester City last year is also absent from the list.
Palmer missing from the Chelsea squad along with three others
Cole Palmer, Romeo Lavia, Wesley Fofana and Ben Chilwell are not included in Chelsea’s squad for Conference League. Three of these stars can rejoin the club in the knockout stage. Chelsea will have a chance to resubmit the squad in February 2025 for the later stage of competition.
Palmer, Lavia and Fofana have been left out of the squad to reduce their workload. Palmer has been working hard and is the main man for Chelsea in the attack. On the other hand Fofana and Lavia are back from long-term injuries.
The case for Ben Chilwell is very different than this. Enzo Mareca has already told Chilwell to find a new club as he is not part of the Italian’s plans. In addition, Maresca is not shy to leave the player out of the squad. He did the same with Raheem Sterling who has now joined Arsenal on loan. However, Chilwell was not able to find a new club due to his injury. He is now linked with Turkish club Fenerbahce. The transfer market in Turkey is open until 18 September.
