Paris Saint-Germain is right now at the top of the Ligue 1 table and excellently poised to win the UEFA Champions League this season. But there are few injuries scares that can derail its campaign. However, PSG coach Christophe Galtier has a plan in mind.

Tweaking the Formation

The Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier is considering making some very important changes in the way its first team plays football. Reports are coming in that he is considering playing four defenders at the back which will bolster the defensive capabilities of the team.

Danilo Pereira and Presnel Kimpembe are presently injured. Hence, the present system of playing three defenders at the back is not possible. It is believed that the four defenders on the pitch can give more leverage to the forward three- Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, and Neymar.

It is expected that the Paris Saint-Germain team will play with the 4-3-1-2 formation for the next few matches. However, everyone expects that it will be a temporary arrangement. When the two defenders will be back, the team will play with the old formation itself.

Paris Saint-Germain’s performance this season

Paris Saint-Germain is on a rampage this season. They are winning everywhere. Be it the Ligue 1 or the Champions League. Their forward line is creating goal-scoring opportunities and scoring goals like no other.

Sergio Ramos is the head of the defensive formation at the back. Together, the defensive line-up can thwart any attack that may come from the opposition. Stats tell all the story. In Ligue 1, PSG has scored 29 goals this season but allowed only 5 goals.

With a goal difference of 24 and 29 points, Les Parisiens (The Parisians) are sitting on top of the table. Everyone expects PSG to become champions of France yet again. However, it is the coveted Champions League trophy that allures them and looks like they are on the course of winning it too.
