Pep gives his opinion on the recent turmoil at Bayern

Premier

The Blues demolished their German opponents last week, and they will head into this week’s quarterfinal second-leg match with a comfortable three-goal edge. And Pep gave his opinion on the turmoil at Bayern.

At the Etihad, the goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland were overshadowed by the incident involving the Bayern forwards Mane and Sane.

After a fight on the pitch, the Senegalese teammate shockingly punched the other player in the locker room.

Bayern, who began their Bundesliga campaign over the weekend by drawing at home against Hoffenheim. Since then has since assessed Mane a “record” punishment.

Pep worried by recent developments

Guardiola worries that Thomas Tuchel’s team will become more motivated. Fears they will overcome the first-leg deficit as a result of the confrontation between Mane and Sane.

He is certain that the players won’t quit during the tie and believes that “sometimes you need conflict” to inspire them.

“Absolutely, sometimes you need conflict to make the team more together, I am pretty sure of that,” said the Man City boss.

“It’s not a weak point, it will be a strong point against us.”

Guardiola added: “I know this club perfectly, I can imagine the situation against City; we play there, the players will do their best.

“Bayern will do their best on Wednesday but I am pretty sure what happened there.

“If it was the opposite and we had lost 3-0 and didn’t win today and there was some conflict. The team would say it is a final for us and we know exactly what we have to do and we will do it.”

Man City prepared for their big European meeting with a comfortable 3-1 victory over Leicester City last Saturday.
