Kevin De Bruyne will exit Manchester City and Pep Guardiola has revealed why he is leaving the club too.
Kevin De Bruyne Leaves:
Pep Guardiola previously did not really talk about contracts and everything. He knew that there were several rumours surrounding De Bruyne. Pep finally has shed some light on Kevin De Bruyne’s transfer decision.
He says that the decision has been made for the club and by the club as well. Pep Guardiola also talks about how it was not really easy for him to tell Kevin De Bruyne about this decision as well.
Pep Guardiola reveals why Kevin De Bruyne will leave:
He missed half of the season because of his injuries. This is why he became a liability in Pep Guardiola’s eyes as well. At the same time, Manchester City are also going to do a squad overhaul too. Pep says that Kevin’s body could not really sustain that schedule to be honest.
He had wages of £400,000 weekly. He is now earning £21 million annually at the moment too.
If De Bruyne would have stayed then Manchester City would not have been able to bring a fresh and new pair of legs to the team as well. Florian Wirtz is being eyed by Manchester City at the moment. It is already said that he can be the correct replacement for Kevin De Bruyne as well. However, the problem may exist that he may not really get signed by Manchester City so soon either. He is already valued at £100 million by Bayer Leverkusen too. He is the correct player for Pep Guardiola’s style of play too.
Author’s Opinion:
I think Kevin De Bruyne’s departure will leave a void in Manchester City to be honest. He was one of the best midfielders for Manchester City if not the best. I think it will be a lot better if Manchester City finds a player just like his style to be honest.
