Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted a new contract extension for the club skipper Sergio Ramos amid speculation over his future.

The 34-year-old Spanish center back has entered his final six months of the contract. He is the key figure for the Los Blancos with 13 appearances and 3 goals in all competitions this season. He had played a very vital role behind Real Madrid’s 34th La Liga triumph last season.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is confident that the Spanish international will stay at the club and will serve for the club in the upcoming years. Now the White Giant’s president has hinted that the Real Madrid skipper will sign a new contract very soon.

Big European giants like Juventus are waiting for the contract to be over. They are pursuing to sign Ramos when he will be a free agent. Madrid don’t want to lose the key player for free to the elite teams. Madrid has already suffered without him on big occasions. Thus they will try to extend the contract with him as soon as possible.

Perez Comments on Ramos Contract:

Speaking at the club’s AGM, Perez said:

“We still trust in this team to achieve great things with players like our captain Sergio Ramos, who has just been selected into the dream team of the year for the 11th time.”

“Last season, along with [Luka] Modric, [Eden] Hazard and Marcelo, they won titles with the values of our club’s history, such as bravery, respect and hard work. The hunger to win titles is the same and that’s why we want more.”

Ramos has already bagged a century of goals for Real Madrid and recently he was selected in the FIFA FIFPRO WORLD XI team. He has been selected there 11 times, most number of times by any defender.

So the big clubs are pretty interested to land him if the contract negotiation don’t go well.
