Barcelona FC has been making headlines recently for its efforts to sign Arsenal’s star striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The club has been on the hunt for a new striker since the departure of Luis Suarez last summer, and Aubameyang seems to be at the top of their wishlist.

Aubameyang has been a key player for Arsenal since joining the club in 2018, scoring 77 goals in 129 appearances. However, the Gabonese striker has struggled this season, with just 10 goals in 26 appearances so far. Despite his dip in form, Barcelona believes that Aubameyang would be the perfect addition to their squad.

Reports suggest that Barcelona has been in talks with Arsenal over the past few weeks, with the two clubs negotiating a potential swap deal that would see Aubameyang move to Camp Nou in exchange for a fee and a player. The identity of the player in question remains unclear, but it is believe to be a midfielder.

Barcelona’s interest in Aubameyang is understandable the team’s struggles this season. The Catalan giants currently sit third in La Liga, five points behind leaders Atletico Madrid. The team has also struggled in the Champions League, crashing out at the last-16 stage to PSG.

Will Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang join Barcelona

Barcelona has relied heavily on Lionel Messi this season, with the Argentine forward scoring 29 goals in all competitions so far. However, Messi’s future at the club is uncertain, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Barcelona may need to find a replacement for Messi, and Aubameyang could be the perfect candidate.

Aubameyang’s pace, movement, and finishing ability would make him an ideal striker for Barcelona’s system. The 31-year-old has also shown his versatility, often playing on the left wing for Arsenal. Barcelona manager Ronald Koeman is for his preference for a fluid attacking style, and Aubameyang’s ability to play in multiple positions would be a major asset for the team.

However, there are also concerns over Aubameyang’s age and form. The striker will turn 32 this year, and his performances this season have been below his usual high standards. There are also questions over whether Aubameyang would be able to adapt to Barcelona’s style of play, given his reliance on counter-attacking football at Arsenal.
