Gyokeres signed for Sporting last year from Coventry City. Sporting signed Gyokeres on a five year deal for £20 million. In addition, Coventry negotiated on a 15% sell-on clause in his contract. However, Sporting have now paid £1.7 million to reduce Coventry’s initially demanded 15% to 10% according to Record. This will earn Coventry £8.4 million and Sporting £75.8 million if Arsenal are able to trigger his release clause.

Arsenal can expect a lot of goals from Viktor Gyokeres. Gyokeres played 50 matches for Sporting in the 2023/24 season. He scored 43 goals along with giving 14 assists. He guided Sporting to the Portugese league title. Current strikers of Arsenal were very poor last season which costed them the league title. Gyokeres could solve that issue and hopefully secure first title for Gunners since 2004.
