Match Analysis:

Arsenal started well on the artificial pitch, but wasteful finishing undermined some fine build-up play. Captain Alexandre Lacazette playing in a deep no.10 role thoroughly enjoyed the extra space after some fine crisp passing with Reiss Nelson and Eddie Nketiah.

Meanwhile, Nicolas Pepe who had a horrible game against Leeds looked like a man on a mission. Contrary to his performance at weekend, He was direct, quick, and tormented the right wing with an incredible performance. The best chance of the half came for the home side. But Sheriff Sinyan somehow missed an open goal as the half ended 0-0.

Arsenal turned on the style in the second half as Nicolas Pepe’s terrific shot hit the crossbar, but seconds later he curled in a lovely shot to put Arsenal in the lead. It was 2-0 soon when Joe Willock’s cross was met by Reiss Nelson and to cap the night off, substitute Florian Balogun added a third for the Gunners within 37 seconds of his arrival.

Molde 0 – 3 Arsenal, Notable Performance:

Nicolas Pepe ( 9/10)– After “Letting the team down” on Sunday. Ivorian bounced back in spectacular fashion with a dominant performance and was rewarded with a well-deserved goal.

Birk Risa (5/10)– The Molde left-back was unable to cope with Nicolas Pepe on the right-wing. The 22-year-old had a night to forget. As he was dribbled past 3 times and lost out on 5 duels.

Florian Balogun– Highly rated Arsenal striker scored after just 37 seconds after entering the pitch.

Manager Reaction:

“I am really pleased, After the disappointment of something negative, you want to see a reaction. And I could see from the first minute with his body language that he was ready to act.

“I think he had a great performance, he scored one goal and could have scored another one or two. He created some good moments in the game and worked really hard for the team. so I really like it, I am pleased with that.
