Manchester United and Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs who are eyeing a move for Torino defender Gleison Bremer as per the recent reports in Italy.
The 24-years-old joined the Serie A side back in 2018 from Brazilian side Atlético Mineiro for around €5 million. Ever since joining the Bulls, the young man has impressed the world with his defensive qualities and aerial abilities inside the opposition box. He has scored nine goals over the past couple of campaigns in the Italian league.
According to the report, Manchester United and Liverpool are ready to go head-to-head for the Brazilian’s services. The player has expressed his desire to play in the Champions League and it will be hard for the Italian club to keep hold of Bremer following the interest from Premier League clubs.
Premier League clubs want to sign Torino defender Bremer:
Liverpool and Manchester United have signed Ibrahima Konate and Raphael Varane respectively in this summer transfer window. So, they already have enough firepower in that position. However, adding even more options will not harm either side.
Liverpool struggled last campaign after centre-back pairing Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez suffered a long term injury. So, signing the 24-years-old will not be a bad option for Jurgen Klopp to have, especially the concerning injury record that the other defender Joel Matip has.
On the other hand, Manchester United could also add Bremer to their disposal as their other two centre-backs Phil Jones and Eric Bailly haven’t been able to find regular first-team action due to injury afflicted times at Old Trafford. So, providing ample options will help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to conquer the league title after almost a decade.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see if Bremer gets his move to the Premier League or not in the upcoming transfer window. The defender has already showcased his talent in Serie A and moving to the English league could be a good decision for the 24-years-old at this stage of his career.
