Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City are reportedly eyeing a move for Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo, as per the report in L’Equipe (via TRANSFERmarketWEB).
The 36-year-old joined the Serie A giants back in 2018 for around €117 million. The Portuguese has managed to score 101 goals in 134 appearances in all competitions over the past three campaigns. He assisted the Old Lady of Turin to lift two Serie A titles and a Copa Italia during this period.
According to the report, Massimiliano Allegri’s side are open to letting go of their ace before the end of the transfer window. The Bianconeri are also ready to reduce their asking price to make the Portuguese superstar’s exit possible. The 36-year-old’s huge £26 million-a-year salary has been turning out to be too much for the Italian giants during this pandemic.
PSG and Manchester City are showing interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo before next week’s transfer deadline. Juventus are asking for around £25 million as the player still has one year left in his current contract. However, it was reported that the Citizens do not want to pay any transfer fees for the 36-year-old.
Will Cristiano Ronaldo leave Juventus this summer?
Following the reappointment of Massimiliano Allegri, the report has started to come out that Cristiano Ronaldo might leave this summer. Despite the forward’s goal-scoring records with the Bianconeri, the Italian manager does not fancy the Portuguese in his squad. The former Manchester United man even started on the bench in the season opener.
Meanwhile, PSG have reportedly identified the 36-year-old as a Kylian Mbappe replacement. The young Frenchman is reportedly unhappy at the France capital and wants to move to Real Madrid. Los Blancos have also tabled a whopping €160 million bid for the 22-year-old who has only one year remaining in his current contract. So, it will be a mouth-watering prospect for the football fans to experience Lionel Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo playing together in the same team.
On the other hand, Manchester City are looking for a new forward this summer and Harry Kane was their number one target. However, after the England captain decided to stay put at Tottenham Hotspur, Pep Guardiola’s side are now shifting their attention towards the City rival Manchester United legend.
So, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Cristiano Ronaldo. Staying at Juventus is looking the most likely destination at this point. But with five days remaining in the transfer market, it will be interesting to see how this saga ends in the end.
