Endrick Felipe is a 15-year-old forward who has set the under-20 football in Brazil on fire. The Brazilian wonder kid has attracted attention for his fabulous performances at the Copinha. The highly rated forward is part of the Palmeiras under-20 team despite just being 15 years old.
The Brazilian forward has already been linked with a host of top European clubs at the tender age of 15. Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain are considered to be the most eager suitors for the wonder kid. The performances in the Copinha has fueled the rumors further about a possible future transfer.
Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo Goes are considered to be the inspiration for top European clubs to invest in the young Brazilian market. Real Madrid signed both players under the age of 20 from Brazil and the club has enjoyed success due to the investment.
Should Endrick Felipe be signed this early in his career?
The Brazilian almost joined Sao Paolo academy before eventually signing for Palmeiras. The young forward is left-footed and has been described to have an excellent finishing ability. His exploits in the Copinha has earned him comparisons to the legendary Ronaldo and Romario.
It is great that the player is being recognized for his talent, however, the media hype is not in the best interest of the player. European clubs and media have in the past made similar hypes for young players which has created a load of pressure on these players.
It is important to let the player develop in due time before integrating him into the European stage. PSG, Real Madrid, and Barcelona should not inch to sign the player at this stage as he is still very young. The move to Europe and the constant comparisons will limit the freedom for the player to grow as a footballer.
Even though Endrick Felipe is showing great promise, a move at this stage will be premature. The forward should be allowed to develop his game further before being relocated to the European stage. However, what is sure to come is a scintillating battle between Europe’s elite for the signature of the wonder kid.
