PSG exit the race for two Chelsea targets including Victor Osimhen

Chelsea Osimhen Saga : There are just a few days of the summer transfer window left. The transfer process is speeding up as the clubs are keen to strengthen their squad. Paris Saint-Germain have made four signings this summer. They have signed Matvey Safonov, Willian Pacho, Désiré Doué and Joao Neves. The French giants have started the new season with two wins. They are currently at top of Ligue 1 table with 6 points and 10 goals scored in two matches. PSG were said to sign some more attacking players. However, recent news say that PSG have now exited the race of two superstars who are being chased by Chelsea.

The two superstars in discussion are Victor Osimhen and Jadon Sancho. Osimhen has been linked with move to Chelsea and Arsenal throughout this summer. However, the deal is nowhere close to being completed. Now, the Nigerian striker has a interest from Saudi clubs. However, it is said that Osimhen is not ready to move away from Europe at this age. PSG who are keen to improve their attacking unit after the departure of Kylian Mbappe are now out of the race to sign Osimhen. In addition, they have also closed the chapter of Jadon Sancho to France.

PSG exit Osimhen race giving Chelsea and Arsenal the lead

According to Le Parisien, PSG will not make any move for Osimhen in the upcoming days. In addition, they have also closed the doors for Jadon Sancho. Firstly, PSG felt the need to strengthen their attacking unit as their main superstar left the club. Kylian Mbappe left PSG to join Real Madrid for free this summer. However, this did not affect PSG as they have scored 10 goals in the opening two matches of the season.

Kan-In Lee scored the first goal for PSG this season against Le Haver. In addition, Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola and Kolo Mauni scored in the same match as well. The second match for PSG was a home fixture against Montpellier. They were able to score six goals and keep a clean sheet to secure all three points. This time Achraf Hakimi, Marco Asensio and Warren Zaire-Emery were the new faces to score one goal each. In addition, Barcola scored two more goals whereas Lee scored one goal after coming in as substitute.

This has given PSG a belief that they might not need another attackers. Hence, PSG have now closed the door for both Osimhen and Sancho, which gives a lead to Chelsea as both of these players are on their wishlist. As for Osimhen, Arsenal are also planning to join the race once again. Gunners were said to not sign a striker this summer. However, there seems to be a change in their plans. Napoli are very close to sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea and are noe eager to part ways with Osimhen this summer. They have received a €65 million bid from Saudi side Al Ahli.

Osimhen’s agent speaks about his future

Despite receiving offers and constantly being on the radar of Saudi clubs, Victor Osimhen is not happy with the move. The striker is still 25 years old and believes that he has a lot to offer in the Europe. His agent recently spoke about the matter and said that Osimhen is still a Napoli player and people should respect that. In addition, he said that Osimhen is not a package which you can ship far away to make space for new players. By new players, Osimhen’s agent was referring to Romelu Lukaku. This makes Chelsea and Arsenal strong contenders to sign him. However, his wage demands are proving to be a huge set back for both clubs. Osimhen earns around £500,000 per week and both Arsenal and Chelsea are not interested to offer him that much wages.

Chelsea making move for Jadon Sancho

PSG have also given lead to Chelsea in signing Jadon Sancho. Manchester United are desperate to sell Sancho this summer. Chelsea are interested to sign him alongside Serie A giants Juventus. The Blues were also plotting a swap move which included swapping Sancho and Raheem Sterling. Both Sterling and Sancho were left out of the squads by their respective managers in the Premier League fixtures. The summer transfer market has a lot to offer as we head into the final three days of the window.
