PSG have one foot in the semi-finals when they defeated the reigning UCL champions Bayern Munich 3-2 at the Allianz stadium. The French champions can take revenge for their loss in the last year’s Champions League final by knocking out Bayern when they face again at the Parc des Princes on Tuesday.
PSG will be going into the second leg confident with not just the lead but three vital away goals in their hand. However, their Ligue 1 form is questionable after inconsistent performances.
The Bavarians on the other hand would be hoping to be more clinical with their finishing having attempted 31 shots scoring only 2 goals. With their striker Robert Lewandowski set to miss the game, the other players would have to step up for the Champions to have any chance.
PSG VS BAYERN MUNICH PREVIEW:
The first leg between the two teams saw a Bayern side clearly missing Lewandowski as they failed to finish the chances. On the other hand, Kylian Mbappe was clinical as he grabbed a brace in the match. Neymar also impressed, orchestrating the PSG attack and providing his teammates with sumptuous passes.
The French champions will be looking forward to repeating a performance similar to the ones they had at Munich. They followed it up the weekend with a routine 1-4 win against Strasbourg in Ligue 1. However, they will be concerned with their recent home form, having lost 3 of their last 5 matches at Parc des Princes.
Bayern Munich, uncharacteristically, have followed their Champions League defeat with a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. The German champions keeping an eye on the return leg, and gave much-needed rest to some of their players.
