Rangers have secured the signing of Ben Davies from Liverpool

Liverpool have successfully managed to offload Ben Davies this summer to Rangers. The Reds were keen to part ways with the defender to clear deadwood from the squad. The Englishman arrived from Preston North End in January last year.

Ben Davies has signed with Rangers for a reported £4 million. Liverpool did not bear the fruits of the move for Davies from Preston North End last winter, however, have still managed to earn more than they spent on the player.

Ben Davies did not play any competitive game for Liverpool during his stay at Anfield. Although, the defender did spend last season on loan in Championship with Sheffield United. The player will be pleased with the transfer as he will get to play regular football at the top level.

Rangers have lost Calvin Bassey to Ajax and Ben Davies will be hopeful of making the starting spot his own at the Ibrox and impress the Scottish giants.

Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp is happy about the transfer

The German tactician said about the transfer:

“Super move. Very positive outcome. Rangers is a fantastic club, a big club. Ben belongs on a big stage for sure. European football as well. This presents a proper opportunity to demonstrate his quality and composure.”

The Liverpool boss also appreciated Giovanni van Brockhorst’s recruitment and wished Ben Davies the best for the future. Jurgen Klopp has praised the Englishman’s character and personality as a whole.

The Manager while speaking to the Website said that:

“As a person he’s as good a guy as you could hope to meet. It’s a smart piece of recruitment from Giovanni van Bronckhorst, to be honest. Perfect for all parties. He has himself an accomplished defender, who is entering his peak years and whose character is top drawer. We wish Ben nothing but the success he deserves and will be following from here as he goes on to make many achievements during the rest of his career.”

In totality, the transfer seems to be the perfect outcome for all parties. The English defender will be hopeful of reviving his career at Ibrox and winning lots of trophies with the Glasgow side.
