Real Madrid academy graduate distances himself from return links

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

Real Madrid is one of the biggest clubs in the world and they also have a decent academy to go with. When Takefuso Kubo emerged from the academy he was tipped to be the next big talent. Kubo has always been compared to the Japanese Messi for his playing abilities. Yet the club never utilized the player to his full capabilities. He was loaned to several La Liga clubs.

This season, however, Kubo has finally managed to find his footing in a young Real Sociedad team. He has been an essential part of the team. In 17 matches with the team in the league, he has scored two goals while assisting another four.

Real Madrid former player Kubo responds to a return back to Bernabeu

Takefuso Kubo appeared for an exclusive interview with the Spanish outlet Marca. In the interview, the Japanese international scoffed at a potential return to the Madrid-based club.

“Right now I am a Real Sociedad player and I don’t think about anything else. The coach takes very good care of me, and the teammates too. If it weren’t for Real, I had half-lost the ticket for the World Cup. Now I am lucky to be summoned among the 26 and I thank the Real Madrid family. I do not think in another thing.”

Real Madrid has a buy-back clause on the deal with Real Sociedad. The board will be closely monitoring the player as he makes his World Cup debut with Japan in Qatar. The former La Masia player has, however, shut down any possible return to Madrid. He is quite happy with Real Sociedad. La Real also has managed to use Kubo to his fullest. Playing a heavy possession-based style, Imanol has deployed Kubo on the left side of the field yet with more license to drive centrally and receive the ball in between the lines.
