Real Madrid beat two top European clubs to sign the French starlet

Real Madrid Castilla

Real Madrid has been one of the silent spectators of the summer transfer window. While the club has overseen many outgoings, only a handful of players arrived. Among the arrivals, Antonio Rudiger was signed on a free transfer from Chelsea. The other arrival was Aurelien Tchouameni from Monaco. The young Frenchman was brought in the deal of around 100 million euros.

Aurelien’s arrival is part of a great strategy to replace the famed midfield trio of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro. The trio has been through one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. The new midfield trio would include Fede Valverde, Camavinga and Tchoumeni.

Casemiro has since departed to Manchester United. Aurelien has, therefore, replaced him in the starting eleven. He has had a flying start into the new season. The Frenchman has provided everything from interceptions, recoveries, assists, line-breaking passes, and more. With his performances, it is only a matter of time before he bags a permanent spot in the starting eleven.

Real Madrid won the race for Tchoumeni

Real Madrid’s race to sign the young midfielder was a tough one. According to reliable transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Los Blancos defeated the likes of Liverpool and PSG for his signature. Liverpool and PSG both held talks with his agents for his signature. Liverpool wanted him as a priority signing and the new face of their project. The midfielder has, however, set his heart on the move to Real Madrid. His will to join the Champions League champions was influential in the race.

Tchounemi has quickly filled the shoes of the Brazilian Casemiro. While his defensive game is not as astute as the Brazilian, his performances show that he is improving significantly with every passing match. He is, however, more innovative going forward and joining the attack.

In Tchoumeni, Real Madrid has a star for the present and the near decade.
