Real Madrid have had an eventful summer window this year. The club said goodbye to some of its legends in Marcelo, Isco, Casemiro, and Gareth Bale. Tchouameni has come in this summer as a Casemiro replacement. The club wanted to bring in the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland as marquee signings. But these moves could not be pulled off. Kylian Mbappe snubbed Real Madrid for Paris Saint Germain as he was offered a mega contract. Erling Haaland is now Manchester City’s first-choice striker, looking to lead them to UCL glory.
One such Real Madrid star is Marco Asensio. Asensio’s time at Real Madrid looks to be over. When he was offered a new extension, he was not willing to accept it. It comes as a surprise as this season was Asensio’s most productive season in his 7 years in the capital. Despite this, he always was a backup option to Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior. The Spanish winger scored 12 times this season but still has a cloud of uncertain future over him.
The contract situation at Real Madrid has got many clubs offering for Asensio. The most notable of them are Arsenal, Manchester United and AC Milan. Arsenal provided a better offer to the Los Blancos, offering €40 million in response to Milan’s €30 million. With Asensio’s future at the club uncertain, it would be best for him to leave. Los Blancos seem complete in their attacking options and it will be a rarity that Asensio will feature for them again. Carlo Ancelotti does not count on the Spaniard at this moment, preferring Rodrygo over him.
Real Madrid Stick To Their Asking Price For Asensio
It is easier said than done as Real Madrid will not be lowering their asking price for the Spaniard. They are sticking to the €30 million price and Clubs will have to raise their offer in order to sign Asensio. With Arsenal, Milan, and Newcastle in the picture, decisions have to be fast. Milan can really strengthen their attack if they do end up getting the 26-year-old Spanish winger.
The demand for Asensio has been quite a bit with many clubs eager to land him knowing what he can offer. Mikel Arteta will also be pushing to lure the Spaniard away from Milan. The clubs are yet to decide on an agreement over him but one thing is clear: This will probably will be Asensio’s last season. Carlo Ancelotti has also confirmed that Asensio is looking to leave. But he has assured him that if Asensio does not leave, Ancelotti will count on him surely.
