About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

The games continue to come thick and fast for Real Madrid as they prepare for Thursday’s visit to Chelsea in the Champions League and Sunday’s visit of Sevilla in La Liga.

Real Madrid won 2-0 against Osasuna in La Liga which put them in a strong position to win the title. This is their second win in the last five matches after drawing three matches.

Zinedine Zidane’s side has proved a lot in this season. They are currently 2 with 74 points in the La Liga table putting a tight competition to win the league. Also, they have also qualified for the semi-finals of the Champions League against all the odds.

These all-impressive performances are achieved despite their long injury list during the season. Real Madrid has suffered a lot due to important players getting injuries and coronavirus.

Currently, there are 4 players out of the team to play against Chelsea out of 5 players who were marked injured by Real Madrid. However, Sergio Ramos may be joining the team after being sidelined for a long time due to injury.

Zidane is taking necessary precautions for the player to be ready for the decisive game of the team. Winning against Chelsea would put them in the Champions League final.

Real Madrid Injury Update:

Lucas Vazquez

Lucas Vazquez was set to become a free agent in the summer. However, he picked up a knee injury in the recent El Clasico win against Barcelona. He has been a key player for Zidane, filling out the right-back position due to the absence of Dani Carvajal.

Dani Carvajal

Dani Carvajal has been mostly sidelined from the team as he suffered Ligament damage in October. He also had been out of the team from November to January. And then again in February due to hamstring issues. However, he managed to appear in the last three games for Madrid. But again had a hamstring issue in the last match against Chelsea and is expected to be out till the end of the season.

Federal Mendy

Federal Mendy is out due to some calf problem he faced after the recent El Clasico match. He has also been a key player for Zidane as he played the role of left-back in the team. He has successfully replaced Marcelo who has not impressed Zidane this season. Mendy’s return to the pitch is also doubtful for Real Madrid.

Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid has been without skipper Sergio Ramos for their last nine matches as because he suffered some calf issue and contracted coronavirus. Zidane has relied a lot on Ramos for the backline, with Ramos out of the team Madrid has conceded a lot of silly goals which has cost them many points.

Federico Valverde

Federico Valverde is currently out of the team self-isolating after contracting Covid-19. But he is doubtful to return after recovering from coronavirus, as he was seen having some ankle problem in his last game against Liverpool. Valverde has proved a lot under Zidane this season and him returning to the team for the final matches of the season would be very helpful for Zidane.

Real Madrid have suffered 50 injuries and 7 Covid cases and are still competing for the La Liga title and Champions League trophy.
