Who is Rayan Cherki?
One of France’s finest young talents, Rayan Cherki is regarded by many as Lyon’s best-ever potential. After joining Olympique in 2010 from Saint-Priest, the Ligue 1 club’s academy saw him make rapid development.
In October of this year, at the age of 16, the 18-year-old made his first-team debut at Groupama Park. Cherki had also gone a long way since then, although he has yet to establish himself as a regular in Lyon’s assault.
In 63 games for Lyon, the French boy has netted the ball 9 times and assisted on 10 occasions. However, his coming years in the French league are unknown since his contract expires in 2023, which has piqued Real Madrid’s interest.
Real Madrid is on Cherki’s mind
Cherki has stated that he wishes to join Real in an interview. On the other hand, the 14-time Champions League winners have been monitoring his growth for a while now.
When Zinedine Zidane was in charge at the Santiago Bernabeu, the prodigy first drew Los Blancos’ attention. Cherki was supposed to be at the disposal of the former French international, but it never happened.
Will Real Madrid land Cherki among other youngsters?
Despite the fact that Zizou left Madrid, the club has kept a tight eye on the 18-year-old’s growth. The French wunderkind has resurfaced on Real Madrid’s radar ahead of next year, as the Merengues plot their summer recruitment strategy.
Warren Zaire-Emery of Paris Saint-Germain has lately surfaced as a target for Real Madrid. And, because Cherki can play across the offensive line, he may be a good investment for Los Blancos. Gabriel Jesus has lately emerged as a top target for Real Madrid as they want to strengthen their offensive squad.
Cherki, on the other hand, can promise the Spanish giants additional years, however, it isn’t clear in the reports whether they are willing to go all out for Cherki in the upcoming transfer window. It’ll be intriguing to see whether Cherki’s goal of signing for Real Madrid comes true.
