Real Madrid are showing interest in Spanish star ahead of summer window. The player is on the radar of Barcelona and Arsenal with the Premier League side holding long-term interest.
The star in question here is Joan Garcia who plays for Espanyol. He is 23 years old and has been with Espanyol since his academy days. He has so far played 58 games for their first-team and has been a regular starter since last season.
Arsenal tried to sign Joan Garcia last summer. Aaron Ramsdale opted to leave Gunners as he lost his place as regular starter to David Raya. Hence, the North London giants opted to go after Garcia but the deal failed.
Espanyol wanted €30 million which was the new release clause in Garcia’s contract. But, Gunners were prepared to pay €25 million which resulted in failure of the deal. However, Arsenal have not dropped their interest and will try again this summer.
Gunners are joined by Barcelona in the race for Garcia. The Spanish giants are in need of new keeper and identify Garcia as the perfect fit. Howeve, both Arsenal and Barca are now set to face competition from 15 time European champions.
Real Madrid join the race for Joan Garcia
According to Real Madrid Exclusivo, Los Blancos are holding interest in Joan Garcia. They may make a move for him this summer if Andriy Lunin decides to leave. The Ukrainian is still not the first-choice keeper despite playing really well in the recent season. Hence, he may opt to join a new club to play regularly.
Arsenal can be still considered as the front-runners in race for Garcia. Earlier they were reported to have held talks with the player and the player was impressed by the plans. Hence, there will be a hope at North London that Garcia may join them.
