Real Madrid have reportedly identified Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar as a transfer target for the summer transfer window. It is well known that Los Blancos want to strengthen their defensive unit for the next season. They might be losing their two first-choice defenders Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane next season.

According to Fichajes, Milan Skriniar is one of the names that has been lined up as a replacement. With uncertainty over the Frenchman’s future at the club, they are looking at their options.

It is believed that David Alaba has been chosen as a replacement for Sergio Ramos in the team. They were linked with the Sevilla defender Jules Kounde earlier as Varane’s replacement.

Skriniar life at Inter Milan

Milan Skriniar has gone on to establish himself as one of the best defenders on show in Serie A since from Sampdoria in 2017. This move made him the most expensive player from Slovakia.

In his 4 years stay he has been able to feature in more than 100 games and has put in some impressive performances at the back for Inter Milan. He has made 29 appearances for Antonio Conte’s side this season in Serie A. His performances have helped them to compete for the Serie A title after almost 10 years.

These impressive performances for Inter Milan have attracted interest from big clubs such as Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

He currently has two years left in his contract for Inter Milan. However, if any club wants to buy the defender then they’ll have to pay almost €70 million for the player.

Skriniar ideal replacement for Varane at Madrid?

Milan Skriniar is a quick and agile center-back who hardly gets beaten in a 1v1. He possesses remarkable strength to overpower the opponent and win some important headers for his team which makes him a decent choice to be Varane’s replacement.

His leadership quality is also remarkable. He is a great passer of the ball, notching up an astonishing 92.3% pass completion rate in the league. Another stat that must be mentioned is his astounding 2.9 clearances per game in the league.

A defender of Skriniar’s quality will undoubtedly be the right choice for Zidane. He can definitely get the best out of him. With all things considered, it would be great for Real Madrid to consider signing the defender.
