Real Madrid Plot Deal with Manchester United for Benfica Ace

Spanish giants Real Madrid allegedly have an unusual transfer plan with Manchester United to sign Alvaro Carreras.

The Real Madrid And Manchester United Deal

Real Madrid are looking to reinforce their left-back options this summer. In reports by the Spanish Media, they feel they also have interest in Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras. The player has already been part of both Madrid and Utd’s youth systems.

This 22-year-old has managed to get 4 goals, and 5 assists in 47 matches so far. Despite leaving Utd last summer for just £5m, the Red Devils included a smart £15m buy-back clause in his contract.

Now Madrid are planning to persuade United into that buy-back, rather than triggering his £51m buy out clause, and then Real think Utd will sell him to them for £30m. The move could be beneficial for both the sides, as per Spanish outlet AS.

Red Devils Could Cash In Without Needing Carreras

Manchester Utd currently have no place for Alvaro Carreras in their current squad. Especially, after signing left-back Patrick Dorgu and already having Luke Shaw and young Harry Amass in the same role. That opens the door for a profit.

The Red Devils can trigger the £15m clause, and flip the Spaniard to the Los Blancos for twice that. That will be easy money for a player they let go not long ago. Before heading to Old Trafford, the Spaniard was at Real from 2017 to 2020. But, he did not make it with Utd’s senior team.

His rise at Benfica has caught plenty of eyes across Europe. Especially, with both his offensive output and defensive growth. Meanwhile, Benfica are currently locked in a title race in Portugal. The player’s value is only going up. That is making this clever transfer triangle even more exciting for the summer window.
