Real Madrid are in conversations to plot a move for 25 year old Spanish star. The star in question plays as a midfielder and is said very close to join Arsenal.
The star in question here is Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad. The 25 year old was being looked by Arsenal in the summer transfer window. They wanted to sign him and tried really hard but failed to do so.
Zubimendi turned down the offer to join the North London club and later it was reported that he opted to do so to stay in Spain. Gunners then opted to sign his former teammate Mikel Merino.
Despite missing out on Zubimendi, Mikel Arteta is still keen to sign him this summer. It is said that the 25 year old is now ready to join them and has agreed personal terms too. However, Madrid are planning to disrupt Arsenal’s plans.
Real Madrid considering to sign Martin Zubimendi in summer
Real Madrid are said to make some changes in their midfield. They have struggled on multiple occasions this season and one of the reasons behind it is to not being able to replace Toni Kross. In addition, Luka Modric could also leave the club this summer.
Madrid are said to part ways with Tchouameni in summer. This will allow them to sign some other star and Mario Cortegana has reported that they are discussing about making a move for Martin Zubimendi. This will come as a big blow for Gunners.
Real Sociedad will want €60 million release clause to be paid fully in order to part ways with Zubimendi. It will then come down to the player on making the final decision. As of now, Gunners still seem to have a lead in the race. However, in football anything can happen so there maybe a twist in the tale lying ahead.
