Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has promised Real Madrid forward Rodrygo a prominent role in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are looking for new faces before the start of the new premier league season. Rodrygo is one of their targets. Arsenal could potentially consider a move for the Brazilian for over a 100M price tag.
Arsenal had a good last season under Mikel Arteta. The Gunners finished second in the table last season, losing the title on the final day of the season to Manchester City. Arsenal finished second place back-to-back years, after losing the title both times to Manchester City.

However, Arteta did a great Job. The team has changed immensely under Spanish manager Mikel Arteta. Since Arteta’s joining in 2019, the squad has transformed tremendously, bringing new players. Lots of high-profile players joined the team including Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, David Raya, Jurrien Timber, and others. So, as usual, the Gunners are also looking for a high-profile player for their squad.
Will Rodrygo Join Arsenal?
Brazilian forward Rodrygo was one of Real Madrid’s key players on their journey to win the Champions League last season. Since his joining in Real Madrid in 2019 the 23-year-old made 216 appearances for Madrid. Rodrygo made 51 appearances last season for Madrid in all competitions, scored 17 goals, and registered 8 assists.
But with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe at the Bernabeu, things will change. Now the question remains whether the Brazilian forward gets more playing time. So, there is no doubt that Rodrygo’s position is under threat next season. The 23-year-old is considering a move to a new club. Rodrygo has been linked to top premier league clubs including Arsenal and Manchester City.
Arsenal have also linked with Johan Bakayoko of PSV and some other players in the summer transfer window. However, Rodrygo is one of their top targets.
Now the question is all about the price money the Gunners have to pay for the Brazilian. According to some reports, Arsenal has to pay a huge amount of money in order to get Rodrygo on the team. Real Madrid recently turned down a British record transfer fee of 120M from English club Liverpool for Rodrygo.
As per multiple reports, Manchester City have also considered a swap deal for Rodrygo with Kevin De Bruyne and Julian Alvarez. But neither party makes an official offer on this swap deal.
However, Madrid is keen to keep the Brazilian forward in their team rather than sell him right now. The Spanish giants believe that Rodrygo is a valuable player for their squad. And with his contract running until 2028 and a staggering 1 Billion release clause, getting Rodrygo is not an easy task for other clubs.
