Real Madrid are done with their transfer window for this season. Los Blancos have not made a lot of big-name signings this summer. Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that the squad for the upcoming season is complete. No more players will be signed but there may be players that would leave. Ancelotti has a world-class squad at his disposal with the likes of Benzema, Modric, and Vinicius. One of the main players of the team who is mostly an unsung hero is Federico Valverde. The Uruguayan is an absolute unit of a player and is the running engine of the whole team.
Los Blancos lost out to Casemiro this summer as well. That leaves a big hole in the midfield where other players will have to step in. In Fede Valverde, They have a player who can mark an era. He can step in and replace the Brazilian. Valverde is often utilized on the right flank by Ancelotti and has thrived there a lot. His defensive contributions to the game cannot be explained by statistics which is why Real Madrid have no intention of selling Valverde in the near future or anytime soon.
But reports say they could have lost Valverde this summer. Real Madrid received offers as high as €90 million. The offers were from Premier League clubs. But Real Madrid were not even interested to listen to offers for Valverde as they see him as an untouchable. The Uruguayan is a leader in the dressing room and Madrid counts on him in every instance. Valverde played a massive role in Real Madrid’s European double last season. The midfielder provided the assist for the only goal in the UEFA Champions League final.
Can Real Madrid replace Casemiro?
Casemiro has left the Spanish capital. His departure has created a big hole in the midfield position that makes Real Madrid more vulnerable. Tchouameni is the one who Ancelotti trusts to replace Casemiro. But it will not be easy for him to replace a legendary CDM like Casemiro so easily. Ancelotti expects support from the likes of Camavinga and Valverde in the defense.
Moreover, Toni Kroos will have a much bigger role this time around. The orchestrator of the Madrid midfield will have to guide the youngsters this season. Mistakes will be easy to come by but the head should not drop. It will be Luka Modric and Toni Kroos to use their experience and help these youngsters develop. Real Madrid are in for another long season that will have its ups and downs. It will be interesting to see how the Champions cope.
