Real Madrid set sights on Chelsea skipper Reece James

Real Madrid will look to strengthen their defence next summer. They are expected to sign a left back, right back and a centre back. Recently, Chelsea captain Reece James has emerged as a potential target for Madrid as a right back.

Dani Carvajal is still very impressive despite being 32 years old. He recently helped Los Blancos to win La Liga and Champions League title. He even scored in UCL final against Dortmund.

Later, Carvajal helped Spain to win the Euro 2024. He is still very good but Madrid are looking for his successor. Last night, Carvajal started as a centre back and Lucas Vazquez was used as a right back by Carlo Ancelotti. Later, Eder Militao came as a substitute for Vazquez and Carvajal was shifted to his main position.

Madrid linked with Reece James

Real Madrid do not have a proper right back except Carvajal. They have an amazing board and staff who are able to find proper replacements before any player looses his prime. Madrid will certainly like to find proper replacement for Carvajal too.

Madrid have been constantly linked with Liverpool FC defender Trent Alexander Arnold. As per HITC, Reece James have now emerged as top target for Los Blancos. These two players possess similar traits as Dani Carvajal; both can defend very well and can also help their team a lot in attacking.

The only concern due to which Madrid may not go after James is injuries. James has been injury prone from a long time. He was able to play only 16 Premier League matches in the 2022/23 season.

Later, in 2023/24 season James was again injured and made only 10 Premier League appearances. To make matters worse, he has again faced a injury this summer. James has not played a single minute this season and still has not recovered.
