One Real Madrid star is said to be open to join Pep Guardiola at Man City. Los Blancos are unwilling to part ways but the player may force a move this summer.
Man City are heading for a busy summer window after a tough season. Pep Guardiola is planning some major changes in summer. One of his plans is midfield rebuild with many of current players moving away.
They will be replaced with new players and currently City are linked with one Madrid player. The star in question is Eduardo Camavinga who completed a move to Spanish capital in 2021. He has since then played very well for the club and helped them win multiple major trophies.
Camavinga to leave Real Madrid this summer?
Real Madrid have no intention to let Camavinga depart just yet. In contrast, they believe that the player has still not reached his peak. Hence, the Frenchman’s importance is only going to increase in the coming years.
However, there is other side to the story as per former Man United scout Mick Brown. Brown told Football Insider that Camavinga may be open to move away from Madrid this summer. It is due to the lack of regular game-time at Spanish capital.
Brown added that Pep Guardiola is a big fan of Camavinga. Hence, the Spaniard may make a move this summer. The 22 year old can play regularly at City and this can be enough to convince him. But, it will require a hefty fee for City to get the deal done.
Earlier, it was reported that Madrid will demand atleast £70 million for Camavinga. The French midfielder is tied to Madrid with contract until 2029. Hence, the Spanish giants are in strong position when it come to negotiations.
Camavinga may still opt to stay at Madrid as his importance is going to increase. Luka Modric may depart at the end of this season due to ageing and this will directly increase game minutes of Camavinga.
