Real Madrid have made a great start to the season. Los Blancos are unbeaten in all 9 games played this season. They are at the top of the La Liga table and also their UCL Group. Ancelotti’s men are wreaking havoc in Europe, getting wins one after another. Whenever the team goes down by a goal, they have a different urge to come back and win. This just says all about the quality that this team possesses. Last season also, they won the European double defying all odds. This season, Real Madrid will try to be on the same course with Vinicius, Valverde, and Modric in top form.
But one thing that has not gone their way is the injuries to key players. Los Blancos enter a difficult part of the season with around 8-9 games in the month of October. They will need all their top guns to fire but it does not seem to be the case so far. Karim Benzema is still out with a knee injury and is also missing international duty with France. Lucas Vasquez was injured in a recent La Liga fixture and might be out for a considerable time. The one that feels the most important one is the recent injury of David Alaba. The Austrian was subbed off in the 70th minute in the match against France.
But the problem is not as big as it was initially. Real Madrid also hopes that it is not a serious knock as they cannot afford to have such a vital player down injured. Alaba joined Real Madrid on a free transfer after his time with Bayern Munich. Since then, he has established himself as one of the club’s most important and versatile players. He was a big part of last season’s heroic nights and the UCL triumph. However, Real Madrid have a replacement in the form of Ton Rudiger who can play at CB quite well. But squad depth will be a question this season and if Los Blancos can cope without some important players.
Can Real Madrid do it all again this season?
La Liga and UCL last season, Real Madrid had a fantastic season to remember. Always put out by pundits and teams, they managed to do what was impossible last season. This season, the squad is more complete with the arrivals of Tchaoumeni and Rudiger. Vinicius Junior is turning out to be the main man this season in absence of Karim Benzema and will look to lead Los Blancos to glory.
But it is quite difficult this season with the likes of Manchester City, Barcelona, and PSG all strengthened. They are going to be the main competitors of Real Madrid this season and will look to dethrone the Spanish champions. Injuries might take a toll on Ancelotti’s side with no replacement for Karim Benzema. Also, another injury to an important player can be fatal to the success of the team this year. It will be a season to look out for.
