Real Madrid to chase for potential Antonio Silva transfer

What prevented

Portuguese outlet Record reported that Real Madrid is considering a move for Antonio Silva, a defensive sensation from Portugal. The reigning La Liga champions consider him as a solution for their central defense. However, they won’t activate his €100 million release clause to acquire him.

At 19 years old, Antonio Silva is a promising young talent from Portugal. He began his youth career at CF Os Repesenses before spending a year at Viseu United. However, his reputation grew after joining Benfica’s renowned youth division in 2016. He climbed the ranks and earned his first-team debut last year.

Silva has quickly become a regular for Benfica and contributed three goals in 32 appearances across all competitions this season. His progress has caught the attention of potential suitors, including Real Madrid.

Real Madrid in desperate need of a center back

Real Madrid is in dire need to sign a center-back in the upcoming summer transfer window. Since Nacho’s contract is expiring soon, and renewal talks have not progressed. The Spanish international is likely to leave as a free agent, and his future seems to be with other clubs since many are interested in him.

Real Madrid needs to sign a new center-back in the upcoming transfer window, as David Alaba is over 30 and has struggled with fitness issues. Josko Gvardiol is their top target, but other clubs are also interested, and RB Leipzig wants to keep him. Antonio Silva is also a potential alternative, but Real Madrid won’t activate his €100 million release clause to sign him from Benfica.

Reportedly, Liverpool is also interested in Antonio Silva, but it’s unlikely that any club will pay €100 million for the 19-year-old Portuguese defensive player. We have to wait and see whether any club will make a move for Silva in the upcoming transfer window.

Real Madrid has a tough fixture ahead as they will face Barcelona in the second leg of Copa del Rey after their first leg loss.
