Real Madrid to sell seven players to sign new Forward

About Football Express India - Indian Super League - I-League

According to Marca’s report, Real Madrid might be looking to load off 7 players in this summer transfer window to support the signing of Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland.

Spanish giants had a decent performance this season as they played the Champions League semi-final. They are currently fighting to win the La Liga despite having a long injury list.

Real Madrid have worked on lowering the financial burden created by Covid-19. They found different methods to lower the club’s wage bill and have already decided to reduce the current squad’s wages by 10%. Now they have decided to sell up to 7 players in the summer to support the signing of some better forwards for next season.

The players that are up on the list are, Brahim Diaz, Dani Ceballos, Jesus Vallejo, Luka Jovic, Takefusa Kubo, Borja Mayoral, and Gareth Bale, who are all currently out on loan, will be available on permanent deals.

Despite these names, there are some more who are not in the plan for next season such as Isco, Marcelo, Alvaro Odriozola, and Mariano Diaz. None of the names reported here are surprises. They are all players whom Real Madrid could conceivably sell, and more than half the list qualify as must-sells.

Either because they have no place or because they would save Real a significant amount of money in their determined effort to bring in actual superstars to compete at the highest level.

Real Madrid Desperate to Sign Mbappe or Haaland:

Los Blancos have been long-term admirers of Mbappe and Halaand and are said to be part of President Florentino Perez’s vision for the club.

Mbappe has done wonders since he joined Paris Saint-Germain from Monaco in 2018, he has been a star forward with 170 appearances and scoring 131 goals and 61 assists.

Currently, he has one year left at PSG and is yet to renew his contract which has given hopes to Real Madrid that the player might be available. It is likely that he would leave and his preferred destination will be Real as he desperately wants to get his hands on the Champions League trophy.

While Mbappe is a priority for Real, they are also keeping an eye for Borussia Dortmund’s young forward Haaland. The Norwegian star joined Dortmund from Salzburg in 2020, and since then has done wonders in front of the goal. He has gone to appear 58 times while scoring 55 goals and 15 assists, with recently winning the DFB Pokal Cup with Dortmund.

Real Madrid are looking for a successor for Karim Benzema in the team after the poor performance from Mariano and Jovic this season.

It is no doubt Mbappe or Haaland will do wonders in the white shirt. But Madrid have to work very hard in the upcoming transfer window to be able to support any one of the signings.
