Real Madrid are looking to land Pau Torres as a potential replacement for the departing Sergio Ramos.
Pau Torres is a 23-year-old Spanish footballer who plays as a center back for La Liga side Villarreal and the Spanish National Team, he mas made 53 appearances for Villarreal where he has found the back of the net four times.
Torres’ impressive defensive skills and abilities have attracted top European clubs who are eager to sign the versatile defender however his contract with Villareal goes on till June 2024 so signing him would be a tough task to achieve.
Real Madrid Interested in Signing Pau Torres?
According to SB Nation, Real Madrid have expressed their interest in signing Torres.
Madrid are looking to upgrade their defense and they would want to bring in additional defensive reinforcements to strengthen their defence.
With Madrid already willing to sign Alaba, they have now shifted their attention to Pau Torres.
They feel Pau Torres would bring more stability to the backline and he would be a perfect candidate to replace the aging Sergio Ramos who isn’t going to play in the Bernabeu for a long time.
However, Real Madrid will face competition from Arsenal who are also desperate to land the Spanish defender but a move to Real Madrid looks more realistic as the defender would want to experience and play in the UEFA Champions League.
So a move to Real Madrid can materialize sooner or later but it is to be seen whether Villareal will let him go easily or will they make sure they can somehow retain their best player this season.
Therefore a move for Torres can be ascertained only when Real Madrid open talks with Villareal.
