Real Madrid wants to offload Alvaro Odriozola to recoup the investment

Real Madrid signed Alvaro Odriozola from Real Sociedad in 2018 as a promising fullback. However, the player has not lived up to the expectations that he brought with him. The full-back has struggled to find space in the squad at the Los Blancos and has been sent on loan repeatedly.

The Spaniard has played for Bayern Munich on loan as well during his time with the Los Blancos. He enjoyed relative success with the German club. However, his most successful spell has come with the Italian club, Fiorentina recently.

Alvaro Odriozola impressed everyone while on loan at Fiorentina last season and has returned to Spain this season. Many people expected him to become an important part of the team after last year’s success. However, the Spanish defender has not been used by Carlo Ancelotti even once this season.

Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are ahead of him in the pecking order at Real Madrid

The two Spanish internationals have played in the right-back position this season and impressed the manager. Alvaro Odriozola has not been given the opportunity to play this season as the manager has looked to maintain consistency in team selection.

Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez are vastly experienced players and know how to succeed in the position. Meanwhile, the 26-year-old has struggled to perform whenever he was given an opportunity to play for the Los Blancos. The Spaniard was considered to be the future of Spain’s National team as well however has failed to stake a claim for the stop.

It is likely that the Spanish fullback will be sold in the coming transfer windows. Real Madrid will want to recoup some of the investment made on the player and move him on from the squad. The Los Blancos will not look for a huge sum but a reasonable amount in the range of fifteen million!!
