Will sacking Mikel Arteta Solve the Crisis at Arsenal?

Arsenal recently lost to Burnley, yes, you heard it right. They currently sit 15th in the Premier League table after a dozen games played. They are smack in the middle of a major crisis.

Arsenal are in a big mess if reports are to be believed Mikel Arteta has lost the dressing room with senior players no longer believing in the coach’s philosophy and tactics.

So how this obnoxious situation has developed and what are the factors that led to this debacle.

Arsenal fans are in a vigorous mood they want Arteta to be sacked but it’s not his fault, it’s the massive rot of players currently playing there. What can Arteta do if Lacazette can’t put the ball in the back of the net from 6 yards and Granit Xhaka puts in silly challenges to get a red card?

Poor Recruitment?

Edu, who is at the helm as director of the football club oversees the recruitment of players, has done a poor job. Seriously, they have done a substandard business, they recruited young players like Lucas Torreira, Nicolas Pepe, William Saliba and Matteo Guendouzi but didn’t show faith in them.

The situation with Saliba is a mystery he was meant to be their long term centre back for a decade but now just plays for the U23 side. Guendouzi has a bite about him(exactly what Arteta wants in his system) they paid 54m to replace him with a 28 years old Thomas Partey. Even though Partey comes good but from a financial point of view they can’t sell him on.

Underperforming Arsenal Squad:

It is befuddling why they have not got rid of Granit Xhaka and David Luiz they are not of Arsenal’s standard. Instead of getting rid of the deadwood, they bought Willian on very high wages(200k/week).

If we think they can rectify it in January but my gut feeling is they would go after Aaour and end up buying Christian Eriksen on a high pay day.

Look, this season is going nowhere at they should give chance to some youngsters like Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Saliba. I can’t imagine centre-back pairing of Gabriel and Holding hold on for the next five years.

Although some players are putting shifts in like Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney, they look like very good prospects but you can’t win with only two players performing. Aubameyang, the captain, has lost his touch and seems to be out of his depth. Willan is a slouch on the wing. Some fans call Ozil to be back but I think it would create more dressing room chaos.

Pep Guardiola is missing Arteta and Arteta is missing Pep. It can be observed watching City’s recent matches they cannot execute those intriguing tactics of Pep. Arteta can be slacked for his negative tactics but these same tactics got them FA Cup and Community Shield. So it would take Arteta time to develop. What they should do is sack the director Edu and hire a new one like Ralf Ragnick.

Arsenal are now up against high flying Southampton on 16th December. I can’t imagine what will happen if Arsenal loses. Twitter will explode again.
